Our story

A little place with a long story

80+ years of diner history at this address

The lunch counter at 616 10th Street was part of Fort Madison life long before The 372 sign went up. A 2014 account says lunch had been served at this address for more than 70 years, putting its diner history here at 80 years and counting. An older 10th Street Station profile also carries a 1929 date; local history at this exact address is documented at least to the 1940s.

Over the years, people have known this little diner by several names: Maid-Rite, Tim’s, Kim & Connie’s, and later 10th Street Station. Fort Madison City Council minutes from 2017 record David Taylor introducing himself as 10th Street Station’s new owner.

Every owner, cook, and counter crew helped keep this place part of town. We’re grateful for what they built. The 372 is carrying that story forward—pull up a chair, order a favorite, and add a memory of your own.
